How to record complex business logic scenarios in my web application?
Scenario recording allows you to capture complex user flows and business processes within your application and provide them to Beagle Security for targeted testing.
By recording a scenario, you can direct Beagle Security’s test engine to focus on specific workflows that may not be easily discovered through automated crawling alone.
Navigating to scenario recording
- Go to Applications and select the application you want to configure.
- Click on the Configuration tab.
- Click on Advanced.
- Select Scenario recording.

Install the Beagle Security browser extension
Before recording a scenario, install the Beagle Security Scenario Recorder extension.
- Open the Chrome Web Store.
- Search for Beagle Sequence Record. (Or find the link here.)
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Confirm the installation when prompted.
Once installed, the extension will be available from the Chrome toolbar or the Extensions menu.
Record a scenario
- Open the Beagle Security Sequence Recorder extension you just installed.
- Enter your Access token and Application token.
- From the drop down menu, click on Scenario.

- Click on Record. A new browser window will open with the application associated with the selected application token.
- Perform the user flow you want Beagle Security to focus on.
- Complete all steps and interactions as you normally would.
- Click Stop once the scenario is complete.
The extension will capture the interactions performed during the recording.
Verify the recording
Before submitting the scenario, it is recommended to verify that the recording captured the intended workflow correctly.
- Click Play in the extension.
- Review the replayed sequence.
- Confirm that all required interactions, inputs, and navigation steps are present.
If any steps are missing, create a new recording and repeat the process.
Submit the scenario
Once the recording has been verified, submit it through the extension.
The recorded scenario will be uploaded to Beagle Security. Click on the recorded scenario and enable Run this scenario after login. This recorded scenario is used to guide testing toward the selected workflow.
This allows Beagle Security’s automated engine to place additional focus on the recorded business logic and user journey during security scans.
