How to mark a finding as a false positive

A false positive occurs when a vulnerability is reported, but after review, you determine that the finding does not represent an actual security issue in your application. If you have verified that a finding is a false positive, you can mark it accordingly within Beagle Security.

Navigation

  • Go to Applications.

  • Select the application containing the finding.

  • Open the Results tab.

  • Click Show result.

  • Scroll down to the All vulnerabilities section.

  • Select the vulnerability you want to review.

  • Click on False positive.

  • Click on Mark as false positive to proceed

You can also mark an occurrence as a false positive. To do this, once you click on a particular vulnerability, click on Occurrence, and then False positive.

Note: Before marking a vulnerability as a false positive, ensure that the finding has been properly reviewed and validated by the appropriate team members. Marking a finding as a false positive indicates that the reported issue does not represent a valid vulnerability in the application and should not require remediation. If you need a second opinion on a false positive you can get in touch with support via live chat or email and one of our security engineers' can verify the finding for you.
