To guarantee comprehensive security coverage for every webpage in your application, particularly those behind login screens, Beagle Security offers four distinct methods for conducting authenticated tests.

These methods are crafted to manage a variety of authentication scenarios, providing you with the flexibility to select the optimal approach for your specific application.

The four methods include:

  • Login form authentication

  • Recorded login

  • Third-party login

In this help article we will look at the third-party login method for authenticated testing.

Third-party login allows users to sign in to an application using their existing credentials from another service, such as Google, Microsoft or Facebook. This feature simplifies the sign up process and enhances security.

Steps to set up authentication using third party login

  1. Select the application you want to run a test for and click on the User input button on the top right.

  2. If your website contains a basic HTTP authentication, enter your username, password and click on the ‘Save and verify’ button.

(Note: This is only needed if basic HTTP authentication is enabled on the website. Read more about it here)

  1. Enable the Test credentials radio button, select the title named Third-party, select Login and click on Add button.

Alternate method: Third party sign up

If you can't provide user credentials for your third-party account, switch to the Sign up option available right next to the Login button and just provide the sign up URL.

Beagle Security’s AI engine will try to sign up for an account on its own for the authenticated testing purpose. However, please note that this is a beta feature. It is recommended to go with the third-party login option.
