# How to mark a finding as a false positive

A false positive occurs when a vulnerability is reported, but after review, you determine that the finding does not represent an actual security issue in your application. If you have verified that a finding is a false positive, you can mark it accordingly within Beagle Security.

# Navigation
* Go to **Applications**.

* Select the application containing the finding.

* Open the **Results** tab.

* Click **Show result**.

* Scroll down to the **All vulnerabilities** section.

* Select the vulnerability you want to review.

* Click on **False positive.**

* Click on **Mark as false positive** to proceed

You can also mark an occurrence as a false positive. To do this, once you click on a particular vulnerability, click on **Occurrence,** and then **False positive**.

| Note: Before marking a vulnerability as a false positive, ensure that the finding has been properly reviewed and validated by the appropriate team members. Marking a finding as a false positive indicates that the reported issue does not represent a valid vulnerability in the application and should not require remediation.
