API Discovery using Kubernetes
Adding a new Discovery profile
- Within the applications dashboard select Discovery profile
- From the side panel click on Add new profile
- Add a profile name, description of the profile, and set discovery type to Kubernetes from the two options available
- Click on Continue
- Provide the Namespace of you Kubernetes cluster
- Configure filtering beneath this section. You can filter the URLs that have been discovered based either on IP or URL text
- You have the option to block specific APIs from reach Beagle Security
- Once this is complete, click Continue
- The final step is the installation process. Copy the command shown, and execute it in a machine which has Kubernetes access
- Click on Continue to create the discovery profile.
Configuring API discovery for API testing
- Select the API you want to test from the application dashboard.
- Go the API tab and select API discovery
- Select the profile you've added from the Profiles section on the left.
- You can configure the profile further under the Configuration tab.
- Discovered APIs will be shown within the Discovered APIs tab.
Configuring sub filtering after API discovery
- Click on the required application and select API.
- Click on API discovery.
- Select the required API profile.
- Click on the Discovered APIs tab to view all APIs discovered for the selected API profile.
- To further filter the discovered APIs based on specific IP addresses, domain or text, click on the Configuration tab, toggle on the button for Enable sub filtering.
- To further filter the discovered APIs by IP address, domain, or text, click the Configuration tab and toggle on Enable sub filtering.
- To add an IP address or domain filter, click Add next to IP and domain filters.
- In the side panel, enter the required IP address or domain name, then click Save.
- Click the Discovered APIs tab to view the APIs discovered for the specified IP address or domain.
- To add a text filter, click Add next to Text filters.
- In the side panel, enter the required text filter and click Save.
- Click the Discovered APIs tab to view the APIs matching the specified text filter.
